We are a group of attorneys from top law schools with a breadth of experience. From big business to big law, we’ve taken the best of those worlds and brought them to our boutique practice. Many of us are active in the legal community and participate in clinics and other programs at local law schools.

MAYA BLUMENFELD

Maya Blumenfeld is the founding attorney of Blumenfeld Legal, P.C.

Maya practices corporate and commercial law, representing emerging companies in general corporate matters, venture capital financings, technology transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Maya represents venture funds, incubators, and angel investors in their investments and day-to-day legal matters. She also works with select executives, advisors, and entrepreneurs. 

Maya began her career as a judicial clerk in the Israeli Supreme Court and later worked in the New York offices of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, advising Fortune 500 companies on mergers and acquisitions, debt restructurings, and private equity financings. Prior to founding Blumenfeld Legal, Maya has worked at the Silicon Valley offices of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C. and Goodwin Procter, LLP, advising private and public technology companies, as well as investors and venture funds. She served as in-house counsel at Verifone, overseeing commercial deals in the payment industry space.   

Maya obtained her Masters Degree in corporate law at NYU Law School and her degrees in Economics and Law (magna cum laude) at Tel-Aviv University.  In her spare time Maya mentors students at Santa Clara University Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic.

AMANDA VAN LEER

Amanda Van Leer joined Blumenfeld Legal as an Associate in 2014. During law school, she interned at Walmart Global eCommerce assisting with compliance issues, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. She also participated in the Santa Clara Law Entrepreneur's Clinic advising technology companies on formation and early-stage legal issues, as well as the Santa Clara Law Worker's Rights Clinic representing clients in employment actions.

Amanda earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California - Los Angeles and obtained her Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration from Santa Clara University. Amanda enjoys collecting vinyl records, football, musicals, dance, power tools, and the proper use of the oxford comma.

ASHLEY PALMQUIST

Ashley Palmquist joined Blumenfeld Legal as an Associate in 2018. While attending law school, she gained valuable experience working as a law clerk at a local law firm, assisting emerging companies in entity formation, general corporate matters, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, she participated in the Santa Clara Law Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic providing legal services to early-stage technology companies. She also volunteered at the Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center where she represented clients in wage and hour claims.

Ashley earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Santa Clara University School of Law. She received multiple Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for receiving the highest grade in several of her law school courses. In her free time, Ashley enjoys slalom water skiing, snowboarding, and yoga.

ALEX TAYLOR

Alexandra Taylor joined Blumenfeld Legal as an Associate in 2023. She earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from New York University and her Juris Doctorate from University of California, Davis School of Law. While in law school, she served as Managing Editor of the UC Davis Law Review and President of the King Hall Women’s Law Association. She also published a Law Review article of her own regarding regulatory standards in the Femtech industry. 

Prior to law school, Alex developed strategic public affairs solutions for global biopharmaceutical clients. Upon graduating from law school, Alex gained valuable experience as an Associate in the Silicon Valley office of a large global law firm, where she supported emerging companies in venture capital fundraisings, commercial transactions, and general corporate matters. In her spare time, Alex enjoys podcasts, interior design, and exploring Northern California with her dog.

ROBYN STANTON

Robyn specializes in intellectual property and technology transactions in high tech and life sciences. Her practice focuses on intellectual property licensing, contract drafting, business law, FDA regulatory, and privacy. She teaches a course in intellectual property and high-tech transactions which she created for Stanford Law School and is a member of the State Bars of California and New York. In addition to teaching, Robyn is a research fellow for Stanford Medical School’s Center for Population Health Sciences.

Robyn’s early background includes clerking for the Hon. Kevin Thomas Duffy, in the Southern District of New York after which, she practiced IP litigation as an associate at Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler (now Arnold and Porter) in New York. She also spent time as Of Counsel in the technology transaction group of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich, and Rosati. Robyn has held several leading in-house positions, including regulatory, licensing, and commercial transactions roles at Cisco Systems, Abbott, Agilent Technologies, and Genentech.
